Bangalore Is All Set To Go Social with Social Media Week!

Social Media Week Bangalore, themed ‘Social Media for Social Change’, will take place between 17 and 21 of February, 2014. Over 5000 professionals are expected to participate in events across various venues

 After the successful debut of Social Media Week (SMW) in India held in Mumbai in September 2013, Bangalore is all set to host this mega global festival. SMW Bangalore will be held between the 17th and 21st of February simultaneously with seven other cities – Barcelona, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Lagos, Milan New York and Tokyo.

SMW is a worldwide festival exploring the social, cultural and economic impact of social media. In just under five years, Social Media Week has become a platform and a community that has grown to  more than 100k members in 26 cities around the world.

R SQUARE Consulting, an integrated marketing services agency will be hosting SMW Bangalore.

We started the series of #SSMeetup last year with Delhi. And we are now kick-starting the 2014 series of #SSMeetup with Delhi NCR again!social samosa bangalore meetup Here’s a summary of the #SSMeetups we held last year: Delhi Meetup – An impromptu meetup plan with 3 days notice for registrations. 40+ people coming in on a Tuesday night at Out Of The Box Cafe, Hauz Khas. We were told this was probably one of the first initiatives in the Delhi region to bring the social media industry together under one roof. Mumbai Meetup – We expected a good number of people to come by for the Mumbai edition, but we underestimated the number and how! 300+ people, packed venue and lots of fun made sure that the meet up went on till the venue had to shut down. Have a look at pictures here & the video below: Bangalore Meetup – Post Mumbai meetup, we were looking forward to the Bangalore edition for obvious reasons! We saw a gathering of 275+ people at Prost Brew Pub in Koramangala along with interesting conversations around the social media scenario in the luru. Here, take a look at the pictures. Hyderabad Meetup - The last leg of our 2014 #SSmeetup was at Hyderabad. It was good to see over 75+ people coming by and talk social media over drinks and good Hyderabadi food. Have a look at the pictures here. #SSMeetup doesn’t need any introduction; but for those who aren’t aware, it is the best place to meet folks from your industry (and the Social Samosa team as well) in a completely informal setting – over drinks and good food.
